* The 2000 Inspection tour has concluded and has been declared the best ever. We were again honoured to have the services of the former Director of the Stallion Testing Station at Adelheidsdorf, Herr Manfred Lopp, as our classifier. A record number of foals were registered and mares classified. The first foals from the newly imported Gymnastik Star and the New Zealand based Anamour were well received. * Herr Lopp conducted dressage clinics all around Australia. Western Australia, South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland (including North Queensland) were covered in this visit with both spectators and participants asking for more. Clinics were booked solid with reserve lists. Some have already asked if they can book for next year!. All levels were catered for and Herr Lopp's knowledge and manner were deeply appreciated by all. * Our Premium Mare for 2000 is Gala. Gala is by Graf Landau out of Walpurgis by Winterkoenig. Walpurgis is out of the imported State Premium Mare, Wolfsangel and is a half sister to the deceased stallion, Daktylus. Gala is a full sister to the licensed stallion, Grand Ouverte, owned by Anna Keppel of NSW. Gala is owned and bred by Holger & Melanie Schmorl of Kinnordy Stud. Gala scored a total score of nine in her classification, including a nine for both walk and trot. * Six mares were performance tested during this Inspection Tour. Five of these mares were by Graf Landau and were bred by Kinnordy Stud. The sixth mare was by Weltmeyer. Unfortunately, a Winterkoenig/Daktylus mare was unable to compete due to injury. The Premium Mare Gala was also the winner of the Performance Test with a final score of 7.78 which included a score of 8.33 for paces and 8.00 for rideability. The four mares tested at Kinnordy were all in foal. * The stallions who passed the first Australian Colt Licensing in Sydney, namely, Graf Geist, Grand Ouverte and Carbine, as well as the imported licensed Man About Town have completed their twelve month License. These stallions must now go on to complete either 100 day Performance Test or achieve their standards through open competition. Only progeny conceived during the last breeding season are eligible for birth registration. *Nominations are called for the 1999 Hanoverian of the Year. This award is open to all birth registered Hanoverians, either with Australian or German papers. The owner need not be a financial member with our Society. Performances above Elementary dressage, C Grade Showjumping or Novice Eventing are required. This award will be decided at the Committee Meeting on the 24th May. |
