Welt As was the Premium Stallion of the 1981 Oldenburg licensing, and went on to sire 14 approved sons and over 60 State Premium mares. He was also the sire of expensive auction horses, including Worcester who sold for DM420,000 as a dressage prospect at the 1989 PSI Auction. Welt As has sired both showjumpers and dressage horses with his most famous son being Bonfire, World Cup and Olympic Gold medal dressage champion, but another son, Leroy Brown was a reserve for the 1992 German Olympic showjumping team and went on to compete at the WEG in Den Haag, ridden by Wout-Jan van der Schans. Welt As was also the sire of Christine Stückleberger's international Grand Prix dressage competitor Diamond VIII.
His sire, the Hanoverian stallion, Weltmeister was the sire of 34 licensed stallion sons, and 56 State Premium mares. He was also the sire of Robert Dover's Grand Prix dressage representative, Walzertakt and Gerd Wiltfang's showjumper, Warum 10. The Weltmeister son, Westminster sired Franke Sloothaak's showjumping star, Weihaiwej. Weltmeister's sire, Wedekind was the leading son of the famous Ferdinand.
Weltmeister's dam, Domdoro is by Don Carlos, the sire of 43 State Premium winners and 24 licensed stallions. The Don Carlos son, Dynamo, sired Dollar Girl, Nick Skelton's showjumping sensation. Welt As' dam, Elfene is from the great Oldenburg mare line of Elfenbraut and is regarded as one of the best daughters of Furioso II. Elfene was a DLG mare, as was her dam, the State Premium mare, Elfenbraut IV who eleven times in a row won the title 'best mare' at the Cloppenburg Show in the heart of Oldenburg horse breeding territory.
