Great Britain is in the lead following the morning session at the 2011 European Dressage Championships. Their star rider, 26-year-old Charlotte Dujardin, leads the field with an impressive 78.83%. Charlotte rode a beautiful test on the Dutch Warmblood Valegro (by Negro) who is owned by Carl Hester and Roly Luard. With incredible extensions and piaffe by Valegro and accurate and stylish riding by Charlotte the pair were impressive from the start. Charlotte, a newcomer to the British team, said in the press conference afterwards: “I had a fantastic ride today. He was brilliantly on par with me. He just did everything.” Competition continues tomorrow.
