The Horse Magazine’s Chris Hector wrote recently in an article about the World Breeding Rankings that “the Danish success story has been spectactular”.

The Danish Studbook, Dansk Varmblood, is currently the No 1 studbook in the World Dressage Ranking – producing international competition stars such as Laura Bechtolsheimer’s Mistral Hojris,  Blue Hors Matine,  the Blue Hors stallions Don Schufro, Hertug, Romancier and Future Cup and Polka Hit Nexen (to name just a few!)

To produce these amazing horses – the Danish Studbook put in place one of the most stringent selection procedures for stallions and mares in Europe with the aim of producing “a noble, leggy and supple riding horse with high rideability…..with capacity to compete in dressage (or jumping) at international level.”

Hermitage Dressage’s stallion, Skywalker, was licensed under this demanding Danish tradition and exemplifies all that the Danish Studbook aims to achieve.  Skywalker’s beautiful exterior is matched by his ideal temperament, high rideability and rhythmical, light footed movements.  His breeding credentials are impeccable and speak for themself – with a cross of Florestan and Donnerhall with a dash of Trakenher elegance via Schwadroneur in his dam line.

Skywalker’s competition record  is as impressive as his breeding credentials and we are very proud of his achievements to date under the guidance of his rider, Sophie Warren, and Hermitage Dressage’s friend and mentor, Uwe Spenlen.

Skywalker is available for 2011/2012 breeding season to a limited mare book and his first Australian foals are expected in November 2011 – we are excited as some of Australia’s most successful breeders chose Skywalker for their mare in 2010 – special rates are available for frozen semen services booked and paid for prior to the 31^st October 2011.
