Qredo de Paulstra has a unique bloodline with Galoubet A as his sire, and with his dam an own daughter of the foundation Thoroughbred jumping sire, Furioso.
Qredo was bred by Robert Gaudichau Paulsen who has produced many sporthorses with the affix ‘Paulstra’. His dam, Celia de Paulstra had an index of 115 at the age of four, and she is a half sister to Hofca Paulstra and Jaina de Paulstra both six year old finalists at Fontainebleau.
After a good five-year-old season, Qredo de Paulstra began his Grand Prix career at the age of seven, and in his best years – as an eight and nine year old – he achieved a jumping index of 155 in 1990.
He commenced his stud career in 1989, with 63 mares. The number has steadily increased and in 2005 he covered 236. With 145 progeny with an index of over 120, and forty with more than 140, he is an established sire and surprisingly, given his pedigree, seems to be breeding horses with dressage ability!
He fell out of favour with the mare owners, and in the 2007 season, he covered just 55 mares to rank equal 88th on the top 100 French stallions rankings.
Qredo de Paulstra sired the showjumpers Clip des Champes (Alois Fuchs), Experio (Eric Levallois) and Corsaire de Vauban (Antonio Vitali).
Other successful progeny include: Concord II (ISO 148), Caloubet Wood (ISO 144), Carat II (ISO 168), Dorothée Marais, ISO (162), Goddess of Bourg (ISO 153), Expério HN, ISO (165) and at the national level, Elf of Jaunière, Epona de la Lande Idr and the dressage specialist, Epson Love HN.
He is also the sire of a number of eventers, including William Fox-Pitt’s Idalgo du Donjon.
In Germany, Qredo is known as the sire of Ciel d’Espoir, re-christened Quattro B when he moved to Oldenburg where he became an important dressage sire…
Qredo de Paulstra’s influence moves to Holstein… Lassergut Hym d’Isigny
His son, Lassergut Hym d’Isigny (out of a Grand Veneur / Quastor mare) had a respectable career from 2002 – 2009 with Eric Navet. The wins were mainly in 1.45 classes, but the chestnut stallion placed in some respectable Grand Prix. In 2015, the stallion moved to Holstein, standing at the famous Hengststation Mass J Hell.
Qredo’s Selle Français son, VDL Groep Sabech d’Ha won the Grand Prix in La Coruna in December 2015 with Lisa Nooren, but since then he has failed to shine.
