Re-Educating the Racehorse – Part 4

Poor Rupert the Racehorse’s new career as an eventer has come to an end. As Hugh Cathels had warned at the initial vet examination, deterioration in his fetlock joints was marked and even with moderate work, there was danger of his breaking down. Still there was a happy ending – Debbie Eades, wife of Rupert’s trainer, Nevin Eades, really wanted Rupert to come and live with her, and be her occasional riding horse. So here he is happily heading off to a lovely soft life, complete with a fifteen acre paddock…
