The other two teams – showjumping and dressage have been named (although I will be very very surprised if the four dressage horses that actually go to Rio are the ones currently named in the team) but the EA release on the eventers, merely notes that 12 horses will go into the pre-staging camp and that: “The final Eventing Team is subject to the outcome of an appeal. Selections will be announced by the AOC at the conclusion of the appeals process.”
So who has put in an appeal? The whisper is that it is Paul Tapner. I sent Paul an email asking him to confirm that he was the one launching the appeal, but over 12 hours later, have not received a reply.
