Who's Who

Levett, Bill

Discipline : Eventing

Born : 1963

Lives : Gloucester, UK

Bill’s father had a passion for hoses and encouraged Bill and his four sisters to try riding as children. Later on, in his twenties he saw eventing on television at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles which inspired him to try his hand at the discipline.

It was the Olympic medallist Neale Lavis, who trained him and provided him with all the equipment to start eventing. Levett’s horses have had ‘NJ’ [Lavis’ nickname] at the end of their names in honour of his influence.

Bill moved from Australia to the UK in 1994 to pursue his lifetime ambition of professional eventing. He runs an equestrian yard there with over 20 horses.
