{"id":15812,"date":"2014-11-12T14:40:34","date_gmt":"2014-11-12T03:40:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.horsemagazine.com\/thm\/?page_id=15812"},"modified":"2017-06-28T14:10:35","modified_gmt":"2017-06-28T04:10:35","slug":"bartle-christopher","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.horsemagazine.com\/thm\/whos-who\/bartle-christopher\/","title":{"rendered":"Bartle, Christopher"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>His mother, Nicole ran a riding school and was also an important translator of classic equitation literature into English \u2013 including Decarpentry\u2019s <em>Academic Equitation, <\/em>Udo Burger\u2019s <em>Way of Perfect Horsemanship\u00a0<\/em>and Ulrik Schramm\u2019s <em>The Undisciplined Horse. <\/em>Between school and university, Christopher trained with Commandant de Parisot, a former chief \u00e9cuyer at the Cadre Noir, and on return to England, worked with the Swedish Olympic medallist, Hans von Blixen-Finecke.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher acquired Wily Trout as an eventer but they turned their attention to dressage, and went on to place 6<sup>th<\/sup> individually at the Los Angeles Olympic Games. They were second at the World Cup final in 1985.<\/p>\n<p>After retiring Wily Trout, Christopher returned to eventing, and was a member of the gold medal winning British team at the 1997 European championships. He won Badminton in 1998 on Word Perfect.<\/p>\n<p>He was dressage trainer to the British eventing team at Atlanta and Sydney before taking the post of team trainer to the German team in 2004 \u2013 with spectacular success.
