{"id":16152,"date":"2014-11-13T12:01:23","date_gmt":"2014-11-13T01:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.horsemagazine.com\/thm\/?page_id=16152"},"modified":"2015-01-22T11:07:19","modified_gmt":"2015-01-22T00:07:19","slug":"kursinski-anne","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.horsemagazine.com\/thm\/whos-who\/kursinski-anne\/","title":{"rendered":"Kursinski, Anne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five-time Olympian, two-time Olympic Silver Medalist, author, clinician and international competitor, Anne Kursinski, is one of the United States\u2019 most accomplished and respected show jumping athletes.\u00a0 Anne is known for her fluid, classical, American riding style.\u2028\u2028Anne has been representing the U.S. for over 30 years.\u00a0 She started her international career while still in high school, competing on the U.S. Nation\u2019s Cup Team at Spruce Meadows.\u00a0 In 2008, she went to her fifth Olympic Games in Hong Kong, as the U.S. Gold Medal Team\u2019s reserve rider.\u2028\u2028In 1983, aboard Livius, she won individual and team gold medals in the Caracus, Venezuela Pan-American Games.\u00a0 She became the first woman to win the Grand Prix of Rome, Italy, in May of 1983.\u00a0 She has been a member or alternate member of 5 U.S. Olympic teams (Los Angelos-alternate-Livius; Seoul-team silver &amp; individually 4th place \u2013Starman; Barcelona-team 5th place-Cannonball; Atlanta-team silver-Eros and Bejing-alternate-Champ).<\/p>\n<p>Anne was voted 1988 AHSA Horsewoman of the Year.
