When he won the Hanoverian licensing in 2005, and was then sold for €800,000 to a consortium of Paul Schockemöhle (not previously known for his love of the Trakehner) and Blue Hors Stud. It engendered an instant record book of mares for a stallion that at this stage had done nothing more than trot out impressively in the licensing triangle. In 2007, 608 Hotline foals were registered in Germany, with probably another couple of hundred around the world…

Hotline went on to win his stallion performance test in 2006, but the foal reports were less encouraging, the foals were just a bit plain, which is not good for the sort of breeders who flock to licensing winners and then want the quick return of a high-priced sale at the next prestigious foal auction.

However, it turned out that the Hotlines were pleasant enough to ride, and he himself advanced through the dressage ranks – it would seem that in this instance Mr Schockemöhle had decided that this particular stallion could not rest on its young horse accolades and had better charm with mare owners with real live competition results. By December 2013, Hotline was competing Grand Prix with Maik Kohlschmidt, and producing a series of solid, if not stunning, performances a 68% at Vestfold in 2013, and another 68% at Hamburg in May 2014.

In 2016 he was competed by the Dane, Daniel Bachmann Anderson with success in Denmark, first at Aalborg in the Special, 3rd at Herning but with less success in Germany – 16th at Aachen, 15th at Hagen.
