Well it’s all over…but what an ending! A six way jump off saw us all on the edge of our seats. Nick Skelton on Big Star from the UK set the pace out first with a very quick clear which saw the other five under immense pressure. Nick finally got\u00a0what he didn’t quite get in London…that individual gold. What a fairytale ending to the Games!<\/p>\n

Swedish rider Peder Fredricson on All In was the only other clear which allowed him a silver medal to match his team silver from the 2008 Olympics.<\/p>\n

Canada’s comeback kid Eric Lamaze on Fine Lady 5 completed the podium. They accumulated 4 faults in the jump off.<\/p>\n

Aussie Edwina Tops-Alexander placed ninth in the final on her athletic little mare Lintea Tequila. That’s her best placing in an Olympics. As a fellow Pymble Ladies’ College girl, I can say she absolutely upheld our school motto today: “All’ Ultimo Lavoro”. Way to go, Edwina!<\/p>\n
