Judging could be very interesting, even more exciting than the dressage.<\/p>\n<p>They have already had preliminary talks with the IOC and FEI!<\/p>\n<p>There is far more to it than two\u00a0armoured horse riders hurtling\u00a0towards each other with long\u00a0lances. Jousting demands levels of\u00a0athleticism, agility and equestrianism\u00a0that make it an ideal candidate\u00a0for the Olympics, English Heritage\u00a0argues.<\/p>\n<p>The organisation has launched\u00a0a campaign to get jousting\u00a0recognised as an Olympic sport\u00a0in time for Tokyo 2020. &#8220;It is an\u00a0incredible spectator sport, a really\u00a0fascinating thing to watch. The skill\u00a0of the knight and the horses make it\u00a0a great thing to witness &#8230; we absolutely\u00a0believe it deserves its place at\u00a0the Olympic table;&#8217; said Lucy Hutchings,\u00a0English Heritage&#8217;s head of projects.\u00a0English Heritage has held preliminary\u00a0talks with the International\u00a0Olympic Committee and the Federation\u00a0Equestre Intemationale, and\u00a0has launched an online petition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New sport for the Olympics in Tokyo?
