VTV\/R+V Foal Championship –\u00a0<\/b>Winners by Diarado and Clicksem\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

(GER\/Bad Segeberg – press release) <\/b>It had been hotly anticipated by many breeders and others: the 2020\u00a0 state foal championship in Bad Segeberg with the best Holsteiner youngsters born in 2020\u00a0 competing against each other. A filly and a colt foal, respectively, have been recognized and\u00a0 awarded the champion title in the frame of the state horse show of the Schleswig-Holstein\u00a0 and Hamburg associations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

35 foals were presented to be judged by the jury, this year comprising of Philipp Baumgart\u00a0 (Verden), Helmar Bescht (Schlieckau) and Deike Ahsbahs (Bokel) bestand. On the basis of the\u00a0 current adjustments to the state ordinance, 500 visitors were permitted to visit the state\u00a0 show ground and the championship contenders saw a lot of interest. In the filly division, a\u00a0 Diarado-Casall daughter bred by Manfred Nissen (Breklum) reigned supreme. She had\u00a0 already been recognized as the winner at the foal championship of her home breeding\u00a0 district, North Frisia. She put up an impressive performance at the foot of the carrier dam\u00a0 breeder Manfred Nissen had had her transferred to from her genetic dam, Indira VI, who\u00a0 had already attracted attention as the Holsteiner champion of the 2019 elite mare show at\u00a0 Elmshorn. Due to the fact that his home-bred grey mare by Casall-Caretino was to be\u00a0 produced as a sport horse for a start, Nissen had opted for embryo transfer. \u201cThis foal\u00a0 couldn\u2019t be any better in terms of type and movement\u201d, Helmar Bescht from the judges trio\u00a0 said about the filly. \u201cShe very powerful, with an energetic thrust from behind and an\u00a0 awesome ambassador of her sire Diarado.\u201d A Corfu de la Vie-Rigoletto daughter (Martin\u00a0 Prignitz, Kollmoor) with highly successful eventing relatives was named reserve champion\u00a0 filly. Third place went to a filly with dressage blood by Vitalis-Aljano bred by Malte Kuhnert,\u00a0 Freienwill.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A close call in the colt division\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The colts saw a son of Clicksem out of a Cachas dam ranked on top by the jury. Peter Rehder\u00a0 of Krumstedt is the happy breeder, who received a B\u00f6ckmann horse trailer sponsored by the\u00a0 R+V insurance group and Hauke Ahsbahs, same as Manfred Nissen. According to judge Philipp Baumgart, the stallion prospect \u201chas put up a dynamic and charismatic performance\u00a0 with a particularly notable and ground-covering canter.\u201d Runner up was Conthargos-Baldini\u00a0 II son (G\u00fcnther Fielmann, Schierensee) from a highly successful mare family, as the colt\u2019s\u00a0 dam is a full sister to Bella Donna, Meredith Micheals Beerbaum\u2019s former international\u00a0 success horse. On third position was a colt by Unlimited-Corrado I bred by Joachim J\u00fcrgens,\u00a0 Gremersdorf.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As Philipp Baumgart summed it up: \u201cToday, one foal has been better than the other. All of\u00a0 them have been evaluated with top marks and the Holsteiner breeding programme has\u00a0<\/span>undergone a very positive development over these past years in terms of type, movement,\u00a0 and legs.\u201c Norbert Boley, managing director of the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH and initiator of the foal championship was more than pleased with the contestants, as\u00a0 well: \u201cWe have seen a brilliant age group with gorgeous types, in particular in the colts\u2019 class\u00a0 it has been a close call, reflecting the great density of quality in the top group. \u201c\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
