Kay, Grace

Discipline : Dressage

Born : 24/07/1994

Lives : Hunter Valley, NSW

Grace is currently based in Windermere in the Hunter Valley where she produces performance horses from her parents’ farm. Growing up Grace was surrounded by horses and began lessons with Kim Peterson at just 6 years old. From there she won her first Young Rider state title at 8, National Young Rider title at 10 and is still the youngest member to have been on the NSW Young Rider Dressage squad. Currently on the National Youth Development squad with her 10 year old gelding Karingal Jamiriquai, they hope to make their first Grand Prix start by the end of the year.

Along with all that, Grace looks forward this year to graduating from university with a Bachelor of International Business.

Grace has bought many young horses through the levels with the help of her long term coach Miguel Tavora. Whilst Dressage is her main discipline she has also been successful with the 8 year old gelding Celerity Park Firenze in the show jumping arena and 6 year old Celerity Park Firenze on the cross country course. Firenze and Faberge were both broken in by Grace as part of her young horse program. With the completion of her degree this year Grace will look to continue her training and competition success at an international level with hopes of competing under Australia’s Green and Gold at the 2020 Olympics. Grace is proudly supported by George St Chiropractic Centre, Trailrace Saddlery, Equipe Saddles Australia and Tucci.
