Key Equestrian happenings:

  • Acquiring my first pony – Louis, a palomino Australian Pony of an unknown age. I rode him to school and still have him!
  • Watching the cross-country in Sydney. It was a stinking hot day, the jumps were enormous and the atmosphere was awesome.
  • Going cross-country for the first time in Nana Glen. What a rush!! I was hooked.
  • Scribing for head treating/FEI vet David Johson at Sydney CCI*** and Adelaide CCI**** before Athens – the best type of schoolies. Not sure who was chaperoning who at the cross-country after party but getting down on the d floor with Andrew and Bettina Hoy, Stuart Tinney, Sam Lyle, Chris Burton etc etc at the Hilton was a hoot!
  • Beating Warmbloods in the young Dressage horse classes and winning my first rug in Werribee on my Thoroughbred Capricio.
  • Having the opportunity to follow the European Dressage circuit for a season and experience the roller coaster of that. Along the way, meeting many idols like Ingrid Klimke, Carl Hester, Hubertus Schmidt, Ullie Kasselman, Ulf Müller, Steffan Peters and many, many more.
