Between 1979 and 1985 Bernard Le Courtois was a journalist and then the Editor of the French horse magazine L’Eperon. He writes for magazines all over the world and is recognised as a great authority on sport horse breeding.

In 1984, Bernard promoted a syndicate to re-launch the breeding career of the influential Thoroughbred stallion, Laudanam, and he used the same idea again to ‘rescue’ the great Almé from the hands of Zangersheide in 1986. The acquisition of Almé lead to the establishment of the beautiful stud farm Brullmail in the heart of Normandy, where Bernard breeds mastifs and fine horses…
