Verden –  From August 6 to 11 the international equestrian elite will meet in Verden. For “Verden International – Equestrian Sport with Ambience” the Hanoverian Federation opens its doors. It is rare to see such a wide range of competitions at an international horse show. From foal auction, mare shows and young horse classes to Grand Prix, all age groups are represented in Verden.

Verden International has established itself as a meeting place for riders and breeders from all over the world. With its wide range of competitions for all age groups, it is a horse show like no other. Starting with the Herwart von der Decken-Show for the best three-year-old Hanoverian mares, through the Hanoverian Young Horse Championships to the Grand Prix of Verden, horses of different ages and training levels can be admired.

Young horses and young riders

The Hanoverian Championships offer young dressage and show-jumping horses the chance to present themselves to a large audience for the first time. It is not unusual to find the winner of these championships in the big classes a few years later. Hanoverian friends who want to secure their own future champion can also find their new four legged partner in Verden: At the Verden Foal and Broodmare Auction on Friday and Saturday evening the youngest Hanoverians will be auctioned off in the Niedersachenhalle.

A further step on the career ladder of the up-and-coming dressage horses is the participation in the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal. One of the qualifying tests for seven- to nine-year-old young Grand Prix horses will take place in Verden. Verden International not only gives the young horses the chance to prove themselves on the big stage. Young dressage riders who are on their way to the top-level will compete in the Piaff-Prize. For the age group under 18 there will be a qualification test for the finals of the “Children Young stars Cup presented by Hengsthaltung Kemper GmbH”, which will be held for the first time on the first weekend of December as part of the Aachen Dressage Youngsters. The two best in the qualification will be allowed to participate in the finals. The highlight of the dressage competitions will be the Grand Prix Special on Sunday afternoon.

In the stadium it will become international when riders from all over the world compete in the show-jumping course in three different tours. A six barres jumping test rounds off the sporting part of Saturday. The Grand Prix of Verden offers the finale of the spectacular tournament days on Sunday afternoon.

It is well known that Verden International is more than just sport and breeding. The exhibition is very popular every year. In the Kinderland the youngest can have fun with different activities.
