Holsteiner Stallion Grading 2020:

Stallion Prospects with Desirable Genetic Diversity

(GER/Neumuenster) Step by step, horse shows have been getting under way again. And  breed events are permitted again under strict hygiene regulations with restrictions as to the  number of visitors. This also includes the highlight on the calendar of the Holsteiner horse  enthusiasts. And so it’s all about the Holsteiner horse once again in the Neumuenster  Holsten hall from 29 to 32 October.

69 stallion prospects have been carefully produced for this event and their breeders and  owners are eagerly waiting for these days bound to have a major impact on their future  careers. The star sires Casall and Cornet Obolensky have the greatest influence on the 2020  stallion candidates. But also Diamant de Semilly is represented by various sons and  grandsons, providing the desired genetic diversity through Diarado, Dominator Z and Dinken.  Of course the selection also includes offspring by Colman and his son Catch, younger  stallions like Quiwi Capitol and Carbol and “classic“ Holsteiners like Cascadello I, Livello or for  example Clarimo. And then the sons of international sires and so-called out-cross stallions  like for example Quabri de L’isle SF, I’m Special de Muze BWP, Flipper d‘Elle SF and Emerald  van het Ruytershof, all of which might offer interesting genetic alternatives with one  offspring each.

“This age group has a relatively wide genetic range”, breeding director Dr.  Thomas Nissen sums up. As of now, pedigrees, relation performance, pictures and videos of  the stallion candidates are available for online review on

From Neumuenster into the world

On Thursday, 29 October, the grading kicks off as usual with the colts presented on hard  ground – those with dressage blood will also be longed – and finally all colts shown at a walk.    Friday will see the free-jumping and at-liberty presentations whereas the approval status  and the champion stallion will be announced on Saturday. The battle of the bids where the  stallions offered for sale will be knocked down to new owners is held on Saturday 31  October after the riding horse auction sale.

“Hybrid auction sales have become common  practice this year”, says head of auction, Roland Metz. You may bid for your future  Holsteiner live in the Holsten hall, as always on the phone or comfortable and convenient  online from any place in the world. In the past, stallions sold at Neumuenster have frequently  excelled in their later career: for example Quiwitino by Quiwi Dream-Caretino left the  Holstenhall stallion graded and with new owner and is now a jumper successfully shown at  international level by Felix Hassmann. Fischer Wild Wave by Water Dance TB -Acobat II  changed hands through the auction sale of the non-licensed colts and is now making a name  for himself as an eventer with Michael Jung. Cordalis by Connor-Cassini II, this year’s Holsteiner four-year-old State Champion with Antonia Brinkop, came to the Brinkop family  of Aukrug from Neumuenster as a non-licensed colt, as well. The elite riding horse auction  sale collection comprises 33 lots from three-year-old youngster to experienced sport horse,  which may be tried out until 27 October prior to being put to auction on Saturday. The entire  event will be livestreamed by ClipMyHorse.TV.
