Holsteiner Stallion Grading and Elite Riding Horse Auction:

Colts Shone on Hard Ground

(Neumünster Press Release) A cacophony of voices from nearly all across Europe could be heard on the triangle side lines during the presentation on hard ground, the first time the Holsteiner stallion candidates born in 2019 performed under the watchful eyes of the visitors and the grading commission at the 51th stallion grading and elite riding horse auction.
The 66 stallion candidates competing for the coveted status of licensed stallion have
mastered the first task with the inspection on hard ground and presentation at a walk in
groups.

“We have seen very good horses able to present themselves”, breeding director
Stephan Haarhoff says about his first impression. “On the whole, the age group comes
across as typey, correct, and with the typical Holsteiner knee action.”

Genetically, the age group is rather diverse, even though the lot is greatly influenced by the Cor de la Bryère sire line, yet again. Casall alone is represented by six colts, his sons Cascadello I, Chopin, and Cieran, as well as his grandsons Charleston, Clarksville, and Christer send offspring, as well, and also the three Cornet Obolensky offspring represent Cor de la Bryère.

In addition to that Diamant de Semilly is present with his sons and grandsons, and provides the desired genetic diversity through Diarado, Dominator Z, and Denver.

Verband stallion Uriko sends three sons to the Holstenhall arena this year, his son United Way premieres with as much as three stallion candidates.

Other candidates which might provide interesting genetic alternatives are by outcross sires like Emerald van het Ruytershof, I’m Special de Muze or Manchester van’t Paradijs. According to good Holsteiner practice, these outcross sires have been bred on
consolidated Holsteiner dam lines.
Two high-profile events, the free jumping and at liberty presentation of the colts are
scheduled for the Friday (29 October) starting at 8.30am, whereas the presentation of the
elite riding horse auction lots begins at 6:00pm.

Roland Metz is happy to answer any questions around the auction or regarding the horses (phone +49 171 4364 651, email: rmetz@holsteiner-verband.de).

The breeders party in hall 5 rounds off the evening on Friday. The entire event is live streamed by ClipMyHorse.TV. Tickets are still available at the ticket office, the 3-g-rule (only vaccinated, tested, recovered) applies to all visitors.
