No crowds of knowledgeable spectators at this years Frankfurt Show
With this year’s big Frankfurt show cancelled the events were transferred – as they were last year – to Schafhof, the home of the show’s chief supporter, Ann-Kathrin Linsenhof and her family.
In the opening round of the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal, an event at Prix St Georges level for eight-year-olds, it was victory to Straight Horse Ascenzione ridden by Helen Langehanenberg – Helen also placed third on Schöne Scarlett.
Straight Horse Ascenzione, is by Zack out of a Don Schufro mare. The mare scored 76.975%.
Frederic Wandres rode Quizmaster, a nine-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Quasar de Charry / Velten Third) into second on 75.487%. Helen and the eight-year-old Hanoverian mare Schöne Scarlett (Scolari / Londonderry) placed third on 75.390%.
PSI stable rider, Isabel Freese rode Total Hope OLD to victory in the 2019 Nürnberger Burg-Pokal and came out to win this year in the first round of the Louisdor Prize, the German championship for developing Grand Prix horses aged eight to 10.
The nine-year-old Oldenburg stallion Total Hope (Totilas / Don Schufro), scored 75.419% for the win.
Not surprisingly, Total Hope is black – he’s by Totilas, by Gribaldi:
And Total Hope’s dam, is Isabell Werth’s multi-medal winner, Weihegold:
Another PSI rider, Frederic Wandres and Hot Hit, 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Hotline / Diamond Hit) finished second on 73.372%.

The finals of both the Lousidor Prize and the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal will be held Sunday.
