Travelling Again!!!

Christopher Hector rediscovers the joys of international travel…

Oh what joy it was finally getting on a plane and getting off in Europe – and then going to two fabulous horse shows, Rotterdam and Aachen, seeing the world’s best riders and horses in action, and catching up with friends I haven’t seen since lockdown…

I will confess that as the departure day approached I was a bit apprehensive, after all this time how would I handle the long flight. Turned out that I hadn’t missed a beat, arrived at Amsterdam Airport feeling great…

Aachen was absolutely wonderful, and as usual Kerrie found some great spots for our welcome and farewell dinners, and if you’ve met Kerrie you won’t be surprised to find that she is flat out planning next year’s Aachen tour. With me this time was a lovely family of serious horse breeders from South Africa, and our 2023 Breeders / Riders pre-tour, looks like starting in Normandy, then through Belgium and Holland, and into Germany and then on to Aachen. Like we always do, there will be two modules – the breeders/riders section and the Aachen show itself, and you can choose to do either or both… Watch this space but let Kerrie know if you are interested because it will be a smaller group!

And yes, I’ve got the travel bug again. In September, I’m travelling to Holland for the World Young Dressage Horse Championships (September 8 – 11).

This is one of my favorites but be warned, accommodation in Ermelo is scarce. We have blocked in a few rooms, but if you want to join me contact Kerrie – reception@organisationunlimited.com.au – but please do it fast so you are not disappointed.

Next up will be a trip to Frankfurt for one of the world’s truly great indoor horse shows: the classes are really unique, with the emphasis on identifying young dressage talent.  15 – 18 of December, again contact Kerrie if you are interested…

And of course, Kerrie is working hard on the 2024 Olympic Games in magical Versailles – once again, let Kerrie know if you want to learn more about that trip. Right now details are sketchy but I have a friend who is right at the heart of planning for the equestrian events at Versailles and he promises more news is coming…

To keep up to date, just email  reception@organisationunlimited.com.au and let us know what you are interested in…
