(Verden Press Release) From November 3 to 5, Verden will be the centre of attention for the young dressage stallions of the 2020 vintage. 65 stallions with excellent pedigrees in a modern style will compete for the positive result at the licensing  of the Hannoveraner Verband.  The stallion sales on Saturday afternoon, which takes place as an OnLive auction, will be exciting. The secret of who will be the “Hannoveraner Mare of the Year” will also be revealed in the entertaining show programme.

The licensing of the dressage stallions offers an exciting collection and some innovations. The pedigrees are very versatile. Young stallions of proven sires like Dancier, Don Nobless or Benicio line up with offspring of stallions presenting their first vintage in Verden, like Damaschino, Despacito, Valdiviani or Bon Courage.

The dam lines of the young stallions are always of special interest and this year’s licensing lot also has some special features. Successful dams like the World Champion of young dressage horses, St.Pr.St. Scara Boa by Scolari, can be found among the dams as well as multiple stallion mothers like Soljanka by Sandro Hit. Furthermore, special mares like St.Pr.St. Reine Freude by Ravallo (among others Fidertanz), St.Pr.St. Wicke by Weltmeyer (among others Scolari), St.Pr.St. Welfenkrone by Weltmeyer (dam of four S-successful dressage horses) or the German Champion Mare St.Pr.St. Waitaki by Weltmeyer belong to the dam lines.

The licensing will start on Friday, November 4, with the presentation on the triangle. Often copied, but never equalled, the performance on the green of the Verden racecourse is a must for every horse-loving visitor. Lunging follows in the afternoon, before the licensing decisions are made on Saturday, November 5, after the free presentation.

For the first time, the dressage stallions will not be shown in the free jumping during the licensing, but this is still part of the selection of the young stallions. It has already been evaluated at the stallion pre-selection and at the video appointments. Everything is set for exciting and eventful days in Verden, when future stars of dressage and Hanoverian breeding will make their first really big appearance.
