Verden. Germany’s best young dressage horses come from Hannover. At the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf, seven of the nine possible medals in the dressage arena went to Hannoveraner. Happy Days Di Fonteabeti and Blue were celebrated as Bundeschampions. In addition, Barbor BS and Global Hope became Champions of riding horses. Three further medallists were celebrated in the riding horse classes. There was also reason to celebrate in eventing. Booze Buddy won gold in the class of five-year-old eventing horses. In addition, Hannoveraner won bronze in both the five and six-year-old classes. With a total of 15 medals, Hanover impressively leads the statistics of the Bundeschampionat ahead of Oldenburg and Holstein.
The dressage arena in Warendorf was dominated by Hannover. The young talents secured all the podium places in the five- and six-year-old classes. The horses born in 2018 were led by the Valverde/Wup daughter Happy Days Di Fonteabeti (breeder: Societa Agricola Allevemanto Fonte Abeti, Sansepolcro Arezzo/Italy) with Maxi Kira von Platen. The expressive bay had already finished eighth at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses at the beginning of August. The exciting fight for second place was won by Filippa AW by Falihandro/Roadster (breeder: Andreas Weissmann, Rheurdt) and Linda Weiß. Third place went to the Top Gear/Prestige Pilot daughter Titania K (breeder: Willem Klausing GbR, Diepholz) and Leonie Richter.
The field of six-year-olds was very close together. The highest score was achieved by the Buckingham/Locksley II-daughter Blue (breeder: Andrea Bentes, Wittingen), who was presented masterfully by Tessa Frank. Vice Bundeschampion became the St. Schufro/Fürstenball-daughter St. Felice (breeder: Patrick Seefeld, Neustadt) with Marcus Hermes. The Hannoveraner premium aspirant had been the price leader at the 137th Elite Auction in Verden in 2020. Together with two other six-year-olds with the same score, the Belantis/Sir Donnerhall son Boulevard (breeder: Sven Graefe, Heiligengrabe) won bronze with Jacob Schenk in the saddle. The seventh of the nine possible medals went to the seven-year-old Funrise by Flannel/Bretton Woods (breeder: Home of Stallions, Velen), who had found a new owner at the Verden stallion sales. For his rider, Tessa Frank, it was the second medal in Warendorf after the victory in the six-year-old class.
A great future lies ahead of the riding horses. In the three-year-old class there was no way around Hannover, the reigning Hannoveraner Champions were the winners. With a dream score of 10 for canter, the Bonds/Livaldon daughter Barbor BS (breeder: Bernhard Sieverding, Twistringen) and Sina Aringer became Bundeschampionesse of the three-year-old mares and geldings.
Global Hope by Global Player/Fidertanz (breeder: ZG Werth, Moers) and Jacob Schenk were awarded the 10 twice: for trot and rideability. This made the spectacular dark bay the Bundeschampion of three-year-old stallions. The Vice Champion, So Special by Secret/Bon Coeur (breeder: Pia Sophie Wahlers, Visselhövede), was also rewarded with a 10, this time for canter. He was presented by Jessica Lynn Thomas.
The Escolar/Don Nobless son Endorphin (breeder: Ingo Pape, Hemmoor) can call himself Vice Bundeschampion of the four-year-old stallions. Nomen est omen: He made his rider Greta Heemsoth happy. The judges also saw this and awarded him a 10 for rideability.
In the class of four-year-old mares and geldings, the Rhineland registered Voundation by Vitalis/Fidertanz (breeder: Rhenania Pferde, Alpen) took bronze with Ann-Christin Wienkamp. The bay’s dam is the full sister of Grande Prize winner Foundation, who achieved international Grand Prix success with Matthias Alexander Rath.
After both quaulifications of eventing horses had ended with a Hannoveraner double victory, the Balou Peggio/Valentino son Booze Buddy (breeder: Heinrich Resinger, Gersten) became Bundeschampion of the five-year-olds. With Wiebke Jaspers, the lively chestnut had already been Hannoveraner Champion of four-year-old eventing horses last year. Cardenio K by Contendro/Lemon Park (breeder: Axel Kietzmann, Lehrte) and Andreas Brandt won the bronze medal. In the six-year-old class, the Radisson/Stalypso daughter Rockaya (breeder: Gerd Lücking, Oyten) and Olympic Champion Julia Krajewski galloped to third place with an outstanding cross-country round. The Hannoveraner premium candidate was already discovered by her current owner Katharina Köhlmoos at the foal auction in Verden.
